Land Clearing & Tractor Services in Volusia County, FL
Volusia County is two different worlds joined at the hip. The east side runs up the coast from Edgewater through Daytona to Ormond Beach: dense, tourist-driven, expensive, and short on undeveloped land. The west side starts around DeLand and stretches out toward Pierson, Seville, and the St. Johns River: rural, agricultural, big lots, lots of palmetto and pine.
Most of our Volusia work falls into one of three buckets. Coastal infill lot clearing (NSB, Edgewater, Port Orange) where someone bought a small wooded lot to build on. Hurricane and storm cleanup, which is a recurring thing on this coast. And large-acreage clearing or mowing on the west side, often for ag exemption qualification or to reset a property that’s been neglected.
What’s different about Volusia
A few things to know if you’re clearing land here:
- Hurricanes shape the calendar. Hurricane season runs June through November and Volusia gets hit. After a storm, our schedule fills up fast with downed trees, debris, and access cleanup. If you’re prepping for next season, the time to clear vulnerable land is in the spring before the rains.
- Coastal lots come with regulations. Anywhere east of US-1 you’re more likely to have wetland buffers, dune protection rules, and tree ordinances. We don’t pull permits, but we’ll point you at what to check.
- West Volusia has the acreage. If you’re doing 5+ acre clearing or pasture work, the west side is most of our acreage volume. DeLand, Glenwood, Pierson, and out toward the St. Johns flatwoods.
- Code enforcement is active in Deltona. Deltona has a lot of overgrown vacant lots from the original GDC platting era, and the city is aggressive about overgrown lot citations. If you got a letter, we can usually be on-site within a week.
- Sandy soil with pockets of clay. Most of Volusia drains fast (sandy flatwoods) but the lower spots near rivers and lakes hold water and turn to mud after rain. We watch the weather closely.
