Land Clearing & Tractor Services in Brevard County, FL
Brevard County is 72 miles long and rarely more than 20 miles wide. That geography drives everything: the coast (Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Melbourne Beach) is a thin strip of barrier island and lagoon, the central spine (US-1, I-95) is where most of the population lives, and the west side runs out toward rural ranchland and the St. Johns River floodplain. Lot clearing demand follows the Space Coast economy: when SpaceX and Blue Origin grow, lot clearing for new homes goes up.
Most of our Brevard work splits between two patterns. Lot clearing for new construction on the central spine (Palm Bay, Viera, west Melbourne) where developers and owner-builders are filling in decades-old platted lots. And rural acreage work on the west side (Mims, west Palm Bay, Malabar) where pastures, tree lots, and small farms need maintenance or reclamation.
What’s different about Brevard
A few things worth knowing:
- Palm Bay is the lot clearing capital. Palm Bay has tens of thousands of platted-but-undeveloped lots from the 1960s General Development Corporation era. Owner-builders, investors, and developers are slowly working through them. If you bought a Palm Bay lot, you’re in good company; we do a lot of these.
- Mims and west Brevard are agricultural. Citrus historically, ranching now, with large-acreage clearing and pasture work as the typical jobs.
- Hurricanes and barrier islands. Brevard’s barrier islands take direct hurricane hits regularly. Storm cleanup is a recurring service after named storms, particularly on Merritt Island and along the lagoon-side communities.
- Wetlands and Indian River Lagoon. Anything near the IRL or its tributaries (Crane Creek, Turkey Creek, Sebastian Inlet) triggers state-level wetland and water quality rules. We respect buffers.
- Space Coast growth. New residents, new builds, new pressure on land. Clearing for owner-builders is steady. We also work as a sub for builders on residential developments.
- Wide range of soil and vegetation. Coastal scrub on the east, palmetto flatwoods through the central spine, more clay-heavy soils and slash pine plantations on the west.
